Never received a bailout The fourth largest memory maker in the world, Germany based Qimonda, filed for bankruptcy today. It is a tough time for most types of business, but a particularly rough one for DRAM manufactures. Competition is so tight that margins are kept low, and this year, there was an over-production of memory. DRAM prices probably will not get much lower than they are right now, for a while, so if you've been thinking about picking up another 2 gigs of DDR2 now might me a good time to take advantage of the deals. Like memory makers in Taiwan, Qimonda was pegged to receive money in a taxpayer bailout money -- but this did not come through in time to save the company from folding. 13,500 Qimondians well soon find themselves out of work.Memory maker Qimonda declares bankruptcy
